Boot Farm

Type: River Ribble, one and a half kilometers of single bank fishing. Map: Link Availability: All members. Disabled Access: Not known. Species:  Game and coarse. Grid Reference of Main Access Point: SD 615334 Grid Reference of Upstream Limit: SD 619338 Grid Reference of Downstream Limit: SD 614332 Car Parking: There is parking through the gate by the side of Boot Farm (after the anglers hut) and down towards the river. Parking for the entire stretch is shown at P on the map. General Description: The Boot Farm water stretches from the downstream end of Stubbins Wood to a point on the bank opposite the upstream end of the island in front of Boot Farm. Access Arrangements: From the White Bull at Alston, between Grimsargh and Longridge on the B6243; follow signs for Alston Old Hall and Observatory. The riparian owners and the RADAC committee have agreed to monitor fishing activity on this stretch. To this end a hut has been placed just inside the gate at Boot Farm containing a record book that all members are required to complete. Details requested are name, membership number, time and date of fishing, and numbers of fish caught. Restrictions: Movement of Vehicles When Night Fishing. In order to avoid disturbing residents members must either leave this water before 11 p.m. or stay on it until 7 a.m. They may not move their cars during the intervening period.
